About Jay
A huge congratulations to the SPG lifter Jay De Oliveira Kinnaird, who made an incredible return to the platform after a long break from competing in powerlifting. Even though Jay has not competed for a while, she has been consistently receiving powerlifting coaching from the SPG team.
Competition Day
Jay delivered a standout performance, achieving a 425kg total—a 10kg personal best, and notably at a bodyweight 10kg lighter than her last appearance. Competing in the 69kg category, she not only set a new PB, but also earned the title of Best Lifter and secured the biggest total of the day.
Her top lifts were:
Squat: 150kg
Bench Press: 90kg
Deadlift: 185kg
For her final deadlift attempt, we made the bold decision to go for 200kg. While it didn’t quite go on the day, it was a strong attempt and a clear sign of what’s to come. This performance marks an exciting return for Jay, and we’re confident there’s even more to come in future competitions.
