You’ve probably already met our dietitian Sophie at SPG Glasgow, but we thought it was time to get to know her a little better. From her love of food to her passion for helping people feel confident around what they eat, Sophie brings a wealth of knowledge, warmth, and practical guidance to everyone she works with.

Sophie’s Background - Destined to be a Dietitian

From a young age, Sophie was a food lover and was fascinated by how different foods could support our bodies and wellbeing.

This curiosity naturally led her to dietetics, combining her love of food with her interest in how nutrition promotes health. Sophie has then proceeded to obtain her BSc in Dietetics degree from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh.

Sophie's Approach to Nutrition and Diet

Sophie’s philosophy is simple: nutrition should be realistic, practical, and personalised.

There’s no one‑size‑fits‑all approach and that is why she focuses on helping each client find what works for them and build sustainable habits that last.

Sophie often faces challenges such as waves of trendy fad diets, “detox” products, and misleading online nutrition advice. She sees how this misinformation can leave people feeling anxious or guilty about perfectly nutritious foods. Sophie's mission is to help clients cut through that noise and feel confident in their choices.

Sophie's Favourite Things about her Dietitian Role at SPG

Sophie admits that she loves helping people move from restriction to a balanced, confident approach to food. Helping people rediscover their enjoyment of food is what Sophie finds most rewarding.

In a world full of confusing messages about “the right way” to eat, she loves guiding people away from restriction and toward a balanced, confident approach to food.

Dietitian Outside the Glasgow Clinic

Q: If not at the clinic, where can we find you?

A: When I am not working with clients, I love to experiment in the kitchen, try new recipes, or bake sourdough. Cooking is my go-to for relaxation, and there’s always something new to try!

Q: If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life:

A: Tiramisu. It might not be the most balanced choice, but I’d be perfectly happy!
