By now you will all know that here, at SPG, we’re all about helping people move better, recover faster, and perform at their best. Whether it’s through physiotherapy, podiatry, dietetics, or sports massage, our team takes a complete approach to injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Today, we’re inviting you to get to know one of the key members of our team better - Sophie Richardson, our Podiatrist and Massage Therapist at SPG Glasgow, who brings an incredible mix of clinical knowledge, real-world experience, and genuine passion for helping people feel and move better.

Sophie Richardson's Academic Background — Podiatrist & Massage Therapist | Glasgow

Sophie holds a BSc in Podiatry and a Master’s in Public Health, giving her a strong foundation in both the science of movement and the importance of overall wellbeing. She’s also currently studying for a BSc in Sports Rehabilitation, further expanding her expertise in treating and preventing injuries.

“I’ve always been drawn to helping people. Growing up around fighters and weightlifters, I saw first-hand how injuries can impact lives - and I wanted to be part of the solution.”

Sophie’s journey into becoming a podiatrist and massage therapist came from a love of movement and a fascination with how the body adapts, heals, and performs. She believes that foot health is often overlooked, yet it plays a crucial role in everything from balance and posture to performance and injury prevention.

Her Approach: Root Cause, Not Quick Fix

When you see Sophie for a sports massage or podiatry session in Glasgow, you’re getting more than just treatment - you’re getting a tailored, problem-solving approach designed around you.

“There’s never a dull moment. Every client, every foot, every injury is different - and that’s what keeps it exciting.”

Sophie believes in identifying the root cause of pain or dysfunction rather than simply managing symptoms. Each session is tailored to the individual, combining hands-on treatment with practical advice and movement strategies to help you recover and stay injury-free.

Whether you’re dealing with a persistent foot issue, a sports injury, or general fatigue from training, Sophie’s integrated approach bridges the gap between podiatry, rehabilitation, and performance.
