Sports Massage & Recovery with Molly: Expert Care from a World Champion
At Sykes Performance Group, we know that recovery is just as important as training - and, crucially, the people you trust with your body matter. That’s why we thought it would be nice to let you get to know our clinicians a little better, starting with someone many of you will already recognise: Molly.

You probably know Molly as part of our team, but what you might not know is just how much experience she brings with her. Beyond the treatment room, as well as having a BSc, Molly is a world champion powerlifter, with years of competition at the highest level, multiple records, and international titles to her name.
Understanding her story - the dedication, the achievements, and the knowledge she’s gained along the way - helps show why you can put your trust in her hands. She knows what it takes to perform at the top, and more importantly, how to recover, rebuild, and move better. Let's dive into what exactly she brings into every sports massage session at SPG in Glasgow.
Molly’s Academic Credentials: Combining Multiple Degrees for Better Care
Molly’s expertise doesn’t stop at her achievements on the lifting platform. She also holds a first-class BSc in Sports Science, Nutrition, and Psychology. This combination of knowledge means she understands the body not just from a physical perspective, but also how mindset, nutrition, and recovery all interact to influence performance and wellbeing. She is currently advancing her expertise further by completing an MSc in Physiotherapy, specialising in musculoskeletal care.
As Molly says:

“I want to help people feel better, move better, and get the most out of their body through education and exercise.”
This philosophy underpins every session she delivers, whether you’re recovering from intense training or simply seeking to feel better daily.
A World Champion Athlete
Molly’s dedication and discipline on the platform are unmatched. Since her first competition in 2021, she has competed internationally for both Great Britain and Scotland, collected 15 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals, and broken 17 Scottish records across multiple categories.
Some of her most notable achievements include becoming the 52kg University World Champion at the FISU Championships in Istanbul, winning junior Commonwealth titles, and earning multiple Scottish and British national records. Molly’s full list of competitions, medals, and records is impressive - for those who want the complete timeline, check out the summary at the end of this blog.

We wish Molly the very best of luck in her upcoming competitions! She’ll be representing Team Scotland at the Home Nations in Birmingham on 1st November, followed by the British Open Championships in Birmingham on 6th December. We’ll be cheering her on as she continues to push the limits and inspire everyone at SPG!
Her experience as a world-class athlete gives her a unique perspective on what the body needs to perform, recover, and prevent injury. Every session she delivers is informed by this elite-level insight, helping clients at SPG benefit from the same principles that guided her to the top of her sport.
Fun Facts: A Quick Chat with Molly
Q: If you’re not in the clinic, where can you be found?
In the kitchen because I love to cook (and eat, of course!), or on the sofa with a crochet project.
Q: If you could only eat one dessert for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Nutella pancakes — no explanation needed!
Q: What are your future aspirations?
I want to become a physiotherapist, helping people feel better, move better, and get the most out of their bodies through education, exercise, and expert care.

We’re keeping our fingers tightly crossed that when Molly graduates from her MSc in Physiotherapy, she’ll continue to stay with SPG as a physiotherapist. We can’t imagine the clinic without her expertise, dedication, and world-class experience!
